Walking into a suite at the Doubletree Ocean Point Resort & Spa - Miami Beach, there were wedding traces everywhere! Confetti on the floor, tons of flowers, bridesmaids dresses hanging and even some Polo Tropical boxes for lunch! Yum! It was the first time I had met Leah and immediately I was welcomed with open arms and felt right at home. There were a ton of people there to support her on this big day while she got ready. On the other side of the hotel was Gregg photographing calm, cool collected Brandon. Along side him were his equally cool groomsmen that were ready to go!

On the beautiful beaches of Miami there is always the chance of wind….and wind is what we got that whole week! Their ceremony was changed to inside the hotel but was still so emotional and symbolic. Some of our favorite moments included the African wedding tradition such as jumping the broom just before they walked up the isle. It’s meaning is a “leap of faith.” Another was tasting the four elements….in meaning…the bride and groom taste foods that represent sour (lemon), bitter (vinegar), hot (cayenne pepper), and sweet (honey) to represent the different times in a marriage.

After the ceremony and before the reception we got a chance to kick off our shoes and play on the beach! No wedding in Miami would be complete without that natural beauty as a backdrop! It’s my favorite part of the whole day in any wedding when we get that fun one on one time with the bride and groom. Also lot of fun times and shared laughs with the bridal party!! The bridal party took that fun and headed up to the reception to kick off the party! ….and they know how to party! We find that;s one commonality between most of our weddings is the amazing energy and fun party atmosphere at the reception! We heard some old school jams that we haven’t heard in years!

To Leah & Brandon: I think we will always remember that glowing older woman in the water who was in our way for the pictures on the beach!! HAHA!! On a serious note, thank you so much for the trust you placed in us to document your day. Miami was the perfect location for you and one that we will never forget!!

NOW! It’s snowing….and this time of year we’re all ready for it to be over! Praying that this is the end but in the mean time I thought I would share some beautiful wintery engagement pictures of Jennifer & Chad! Enjoy!

There is something so breath taking about a Miami Beach wedding! As wedding photographers the lighting is perfect as the sun is setting and the rich colors just captivate the senses! The beach and the beautiful grounds around the Palms Hotel and Spa was the perfect location for Laurie and Mark’s wedding.

Laurie first inquired about us over a year ago and we soon became friends on Facebook before even meeting! The first thing you notice about Laurie is a bigger than life smile!! …and after meeting her you quickly realize that her caring and sweet personality is even better than her radiant smile! It was fun sharing and hearing about all of her adventures leading up to the big day and we couldn’t wait to meet Mark and their baby Jack! Jack is their adorable pup who is currently a part of our “Lots of Love” Facebook pet contest….go check it out!

So the big day finally arrives and these two planned out the events of their wedding a little different than most! They shared in a very intimate ceremony with family on Thursday and when Saturday came wow what a party to share with all! The weather was beautiful…..windy but beautiful! The wind was actually so strong at times that their beach ceremony was moved to the Palms Hotel’s gazebo….but that didn’t stop us from heading to the beach for some pictures! One super cute event that was important to Laurie and Mark was for everyone at the ceremony to make a wish and throw a shell into the ocean. It was amazing being on the other side of the camera and to watch and capture these moments!

To Laurie & Mark: Seeing you two together just show how well your personalities complement each other. Your love for one another and your thoughtfulness of others is a sure ingredient for everlasting happiness! Thank you for letting us share in your day! We know for sure we’ll be seeing you in the future….whether it’s in New York City or the sun of Miami!!

Newborn baby photography is one of the most rewarding areas of photography to be a part of. There is something so magical about first several days of a baby’s life that is so different from any other time…everything is so brand new! They grow sooooo fast…soon that umbilical cord will be off….that skin that’s so wrinkly and soft will soon grow into their little bodies and those adorable itty bitty toes won’t be so little! While the stages to come are precious, its seeing these pictures again when she’s 17 and graduating high school that that will warm your heart all over again of the “in the beginning” memories. One that I captured last week was baby Madelyn! Her parents and family will cherish these images for years to come!
