month: March 2010

We are a little behind on our blogging lately…but with a great excuse! Potty training! Oh joy! Everyone you talk to says the same thing “ehhk potty training….” and continue their battle story….as if you just went through some traumatic event together. HAHA! I never knew! …but there is light at the end of the tunnel as the little one has it down pat and mom and dad are finally getting back on track!

So how about a beautiful newborn!? Meet Myla! Gregg and I were lucky enough to have photographed her parent’s wedding way back in 2006! It’s amazing how time goes by so fast! Grace and Ryan are the most loving couple and their kindness just shines on to everyone they meet. …and now Myla comes into this amazing family! She is the epitome of sweet! There is just something about this cute sleepy face!! LOVE! Grace had the wonderful idea to bring some pearls to this shoot. Never had I used pearls in the past with a newborn, but I knew we could get something really cute from it…and we did! It was the perfect little feminine touch that completed the image. It’s so much fun when parents get involved and come up with creative ideas!

To Grace, Ryan and baby Myla: We missed you two! It was WAY too long since we last saw you! We couldn’t be happier for you both!

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” ~ Anatole France

Allie is a very energetic 5 year old! Seeing her energy firsthand in our studio and that adorable personality just made my day! When she first got to the studio she jokingly told me “my friend said that I can only smile once!” …haha….well that one smile came and left pretty fast and another million followed! Later I found out that she watches Americas Next Top Model which explains EVERYTHING! Allie was busting out in these hand on the hip “smizing” poses that had her mom and I cracking up! Allie you were great and made your mom so happy with some new adorable pictures! I can’t even get some of our high school seniors to pose like that!
To Allie: Your energy is motivating! You were a true pleasure to work with and to be around!! Senior season is coming up and I think we are going to hire you to put on some classes here on posing! HAHA! Hopefully we will get a chance to see you again when you become a BIG sister!!

Laurie and Greg have the cutest engagement story and it was so awesome to hear it all over again!

So here is our engagement story! Greg proposed on Christmas Eve day.  He had me meet him at his house (for an alleged brunch with his parents). When I walked in the door no one was there and it was just us. Greg said his parents were running late and that he wanted to give me one early Christmas present.  He had me close my eyes and he went into his bedroom to get the present. When Greg told me to open my eyes, he had our puppy Riley sitting in the middle of the living room with a red bow on her head. I immediately grabbed her and was getting little puppy kisses when Greg said, “They (the breeders) already gave her a name.” I asked what the name was and he told me to look at her name tag. The name tag had ”will you marry me” on it and by the time I looked up he was on his knee with the most beautiful ring out!!! The rest is history….(check out the picture below!)

Yes, Riley is another pointer! …he is the third pointer to get his pet portrait in our studio within the past few months! I’m in LOVE with them! What an amazing breed!

So back to this amazing couple….with their wedding quickly approaching, we decided to schedule their engagement session right away! We had a fun portrait session in the studio and since the weather cooperated we were even lucky enough to head up to Schoen Place here in the Village of Pittsford for some fun canal shots!

To Laurie and Greg: Thank you so much for sharing your fun engagement story and bringing Riley with you! See you in a few very short months on the big day!
