month: October 2009

…this time with his with his mom and dad Janet and Ryan! This family is very near and dear to us as they are some of our closest friends. Janet and I have been friends since before our weddings when I posted a bulletin on theknot.com looking for a workout partner….well…I think we made it to the gym 2 years later, but became instant friends after that email! After sharing the joys of our weddings a few months apart we as couples remained great friends and a little while later we learned that we were both pregnant! It was great that she was 6 months before me so I knew everything (good and bad) that was coming! Our daughter Brooke and their son Jack have grown very close since their births and we know that it will be a lifetime friendship! …so much that we all joke that they will have a great slideshow at their wedding! HAHA!

To Janet and Ryan: Thank you so much for being such great friends! We’ve never met anyone that are so willing to drop anything in their own lives to help others. You think nothing of it, but to us it it’s huge and greatly appreciated! As soon as we were in a babysitting pinch you were there without hesitation and as soon as that HUGE tree fell in the back you were over immediately to help! …and the list goes on and on! We are very lucky and I know that we have friendship that will endure a lifetime.

It’s just the way they looked at each other, where you can instantly sense the love that they each have for each other. Carol and Ted both live out of town so I got a chance at their engagements to find out more about them. They are a loving and caring couple, definitely people you want to know! Their day started out at Calvary St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in the 9th Ward here in Rochester. Exquisite and beautiful! The lighting, and character of the church was something we rarely see as photographers. Check out the remarkable shot that my hubby and partner Gregg got just from the light coming through the church windows!! The image is entirely black except for the couple who are truly radiant! From there we headed to one of my favorite places, the Sunken Gardens which was right down the street from the church. Once again the lighting was perfect…everything was just falling right into place. From there we headed off to the reception at the Inn on Broadway. We haven’t been there since the new addition (which was years ago) but wow! What a fun place for a reception! The color, ambiance and staff that work there all made for a wonderful night! Wow was the food scrumptious too!

PS…check out Ted’s grandmother Grace in the last picture! She is the family matriarch and from what I’m told never puts down the camera!! I’m glad I was able to pull it from her to get a few! J Its so much fun to see someone with that kind of passion for photography after so many years!

To Carol and Ted: Once again it was a true pleasure working with you both! You two are so genuine and fun spirited! We definitely hope to be in contact for a long time!

Little Katie has been one of my favorite babies to have in the studio since she was born! It’s surreal to think that just a few short years ago we were at her parents Janice and Kevin’s wedding, taking their pictures! We love our clients and form a forever bond….that’s exactly why we ventured into the studio realm…to stay connect to all of our friends…to be a family photographer!

Katie as always was a complete doll! Every photographers DREAM!…and well parents too for that matter! Now turning 1 we thought we would have a little fun with a cake…and to our surprise she didn’t like it! It was even chocolate!!!!! ….but we did get some adorable pictures of tasting it!

To Katie: Katie…we LOVE you! Thank you for being the best baby! We can’t wait to get you back to see that adorable face again! Janice and Kevin…you know that your next baby is going to be the complete opposite! Watch out! HAHA!

We say this a lot but we LOVE our clients!! We are truly blessed to be in the profession working with couples on the happiest day of their lives! When you go to our website or read our blog you can really get a sense of who we are a couple and as photographers. It’s so important to connect with your vendors on your wedding day! They will understand who you are as a couple and just enhance all the hard work and planning you have done up to this day. Here are some funny pictures that when I saw just laughed out loud and had to share!…

Mandy: “I love this dark brick wall…let’s try a serious pose…no smiles….no seriously…..no smiles!!!!!!!!!” ;)

Carol: “HAHAHAHAHA!…how do we not smile when you tell us not to?”

I love creating these natural expressions from this bridal party…it just captured who they were as friends!

Check back next week for more pictures from Carol and Ted’s wedding!!!!!

We LOVED working with Anna and Casey…and not to mention their wacky, wild bridal party! Beautiful ceremony at Mother of Sorrows …a church with so much character! What a great place for pictures…I especially love the brilliant warm glow inside. After the ceremony we had some time before the reception so we headed to one of my favorite locations, the Sunken Gardens! This is where we got to see this crew in action…and I don’t know if it’s because they had sometime in the limo with a “fun” cooler or if they were just excited to be there…haha…I’m sure it was a bit of each… but either way the shoot was absolutely hysterical! Before heading off to the reception we made a pit stop downtown on Main Street for some urban images…another favorite place of ours. The fun didn’t stop there…we continued off to the Crown Plaza downtown. Mike LaMarca was the head DJ that night…and we knew we are going to have a rockin’ party if he’s there!! Check him out at Spectrum Sounds.

To Anna and Casey: This was a wedding where everyone had a great time! Everything went off with out a hitch …besides the missing “t” at the reception! HAHA! Both of you, your families and friends were so enjoyable, so open and we all could tell how much went into your day!
